Office Manager
I began my career in dentistry almost 30 years ago and joined Dr. Ortiz in 2008. I am responsible for managing the front and back offices, accounts, insurance, and basically anything to help the office run smoothly from day to day. I enjoy helping people understand the importance of their dental health and making it possible for them to obtain the smile they have always wanted. I am very grateful to be part of the Center for Smiles Team. Dr. Ortiz has an amazing passion for his patients and dentistry and treats his staff like family. I moved from NY in 2005 with my two sons, Christopher and Tyler. I have a dog named Baby, which I rescued a couple of years ago and she always puts a smile on my face. I enjoy escaping to the beach to play beach volleyball, paddle-boarding, or reading a good book. I stay active by going to the gym, running, and biking.

Dental Assistant
Ileana Figueroa has recently re-joined Dr. Ortiz s Team this past March 2013 after a hiatus of almost eight years as his Primary Dental Assistant since 1992. Her duties include; setting up patient rooms for their dental procedures, making patients feel comfortable, educating patients on all the treatment options available to customize their individual treatment plans, instrument sterilization, chair side assisting Dr. Ortiz and ordering supplies. She prides herself in her genuine dedication to her profession and dental assistant duties. She loves working for Dr. Ortiz because he is caring, considerate, and is very passionate about helping ALL his patients alike in achieving their optimal dental health. In addition, Dr. Ortiz gets to know all his patients on a personal level and devotes a lot of his time and efforts to providing the best quality dental care utilizing the latest dental technology and continually updating himself through continuing education and hands-on training. Ileana is totally committed to the well-being of all her patients. In addition, Ileana is bilingual in Spanish.

I have been working in the dental field for almost 20 years. I joined Dr Ortiz’s team in April of 2014. My duties are assisting Dr Ortiz, setting up patient rooms for dental procedures, instrument sterilization, and most importantly making sure my patients are comfortable during their dental procedures. I enjoy educating my patients on the importance of great oral care, as well as helping my patients obtain the beautiful smile they have always desired. I love working with Dr Ortiz, he is very professional, dedicated and he loves his profession, he cares about his patients and treats them like his family. I am proud to be a member of the Center for Smiles team and very grateful to be working for a dentist who strives for perfection. I enjoy spending time with my family outdoors, parks, beaches and the lake. I always say, " A healthy life starts with a healthy smile"

I began my career in dentistry in 2004 and joined Center for Smiles and Dr. Ortiz in 2013. I am responsible for scheduling appointments, verifying patient’s dental insurance, presenting treatment plans, and most importantly welcoming our patients and making them feel at home. I enjoy helping our patients understand their dental treatment, so that they can achieve their dental goals. I am very grateful for the opportunity to be a part of Dr’s Ortiz’s team. He truly cares for his patients and his team. Dr. Ortiz makes going to the dentist fun! Baxter, my pet turtle, and I moved from Southern New Jersey to be closer to my parents and escape the cold weather for good. I enjoy going to the movies, reading, spending time at the beach and being around my family and friends.

I grew up on Anna Maria Island, FL. I attended FSU and graduated with a degree in Marketing. Upon graduation I moved to Philadelphia, PA where I lived for the next four years and worked as an Invitation Specialist. During that time I planned a weeding, got married and realized I had a passion for teeth. I decided to go back to college and I obtained a degree in Dental Hygiene. Shortly after graduation I moved to Gainesville, FL to be closer to family and back to a warmer climate. In 2013 I returned to the Tampa Bay Area after my husband took a job in the Trinity Area. I feel I am very fortunate to have found a new home at Center for Smiles, where I am able to passionately do what I love, which is patient care. During my down time I enjoy crafting, reading and spending time with my husband and dog, Hailee. I look forward to a long career with Dr. Ortiz at Center for Smiles.
