Ramon F. Ortiz, DMD, MS
Dr. Ramon Ortiz has been practicing dentistry for 39 years. He served with the US Air Force as a dentist for 20 years and retired as a Colonel in 1992. He has been in civilian private practice for the past 19 years in the state of Florida and almost 15 years at his previous location before moving to his present office in Oldsmar in 2009.
Dr. Ortiz attended the University of Puerto Rico for his undergraduate education, earning both a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Bachelor of Science degree. His dental education was completed at the University of Puerto Rico School of Dentistry, where he earned his Doctorate of Dental Medicine. Dr. Ortiz earned his Master of Science degree in dentistry at Indiana University School of Dentistry.
In addition to his formal training, Dr. Ortiz has also studied at the Dawson Academy, the Misch Institute for Oral Implants, and is certified in oral sedation and the use of dental lasers.
Dr. Ortiz is very active in organized dentistry and is a past President of the Florida Academy of General Dentistry. His other professional affiliations include:

Outside of dentistry, Dr. Ortiz is the Vice President of the Krewe of Sant’ Yago Education Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing scholarships to needy Hispanic students to attend college in the local Hillsborough County in Tampa, FL.
Dr. Ortiz has been married for over 42 years to his wife, Esther, and has one daughter, Stephanie, and a son-in-law, Jamie. In his free time, Dr. Ortiz enjoys golf, tennis, baseball, traveling, dancing, and sailing.
